2016 Elections | Mahama And Nana Addo To File Today
Information available to banewsgh.com indicates that the nominees of both the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will today file their nominations in a bid to lead the country in 2017.
According to sources within the NPP, even though the electoral body has hinted it will not accept the nomination of nominees who fail to declare their assets, the party will still go ahead and summit the nomination since the constitution only mandates public office holders to do so.
President John Dramani Mahama will also later in the day file his nomination upon his return from his trip to the UN Assembly where he co-hosted side events geared towards the successful implementation of the SDGs, the Food and Agriculture Organization and World Food Programme event on “Pathways to Zero Hunger”.
This is Nana Addo’s third attempt at the presidency and the second time he will be locking horns with President John Dramani after he lost to him in 2012.
