Akufo-Addo’s Cousin Endorses Mahama | Says He Will “Be A Better President”
A former Deputy Communications Minister under the Rawlings regime and Parliamentary Candidate of the ruling NDC for the Abuakwa South constituency, Mr. Owuraku Amofa has endorsed H.E. John Dramani Mahama ahead of his cousin, Nana Akuffo Addo in the upcoming 2016 presidential elections.
Owuraku Amofa disclosed that he strongly supports President Mahama’s second term bid because he believes that he will be a better president than the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The founder of the now defunct EGLE Party and a relative of Nana Akufo-Addo made the shocking but interesting revelation in an interview with Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Wednesday.
According to him, he has never regretted supporting the twice defeated presidential hopeful of the NPP in 2008 because it gave him the opportunity to do a comparative analysis of both the NDC and the NPP and that informed his decision to go back to the NDC because he realised there are more nobler men in the NDC than the NPP.
Owuraku Amofa was born on February 8, 1956. He served as Deputy Minister of Communications and Tourism under the erstwhile Rawlings administration.
He founded the now defunct EGLE party in 1992 and was the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa Central between 1992 and 1996.
He is from Kyebi and a cousin of the Nana Akufo-Addo, the flagbearer of the NPP.
