BA United Axe CEO Roy Arthur

Chief Executive Officer of BA United, Roy Arthur  has been suspended indefinitely by the Board of Directors of the Premier League club.

Board Chairman Mr Peter Nimo has said on Sunyani-based Ark FM that the club took the drastic decision to axe the CEO over his deliberate failure to account to the Board.

According to him, the Board wrote to Mr Arthur asking him to submit reports on his work so far and also present the club’s program for the second round of the league.

This was for them to re-strategize and integrate all those individuals who have expressed interest to support the club and take it out of the relegation zone.

Mr Nimo disclosed that when he called Roy to discuss further on the issue, he emphatically responded that he will not submit any reports to anybody, though his contract requires him to report to the Board of Directors periodically.

The club says, the indefinite suspension is to give him the opportunity to make amends and if he does, he would be recalled though he has shown not to be interested in the job anymore. understands that the club’s management and technical teams remain intact with Mr Peter Nimo acting as the CEO whilst the board decides on who becomes the next CEO before the start of the second round.

Business tycoon Roy Arthur was very influential in the club’s return to the domestic top-flight.

However, BA United has had a jerky campaign in the first round of the League, facing allegations of matching-fixing/betting and currently lying bottom on the table with just 13 points out of 45.
