Celebrated hip-life musician, Nana Belinda Nana Akua Amoah known by her stage name Mzbel has revealed that the Free SHS Policy is not a sham.
The musician, an avowed supporter of the estwhile John Mahama led NDC made the confession after securing admission for her son.
Flanked by her son on the campus of Achimota Senior High School, Mzbel wrote “Free Education here we come!!! It’s actually true oo! Hahaaa Nana well done oo!! Onto the next deal… One Corner One Dancer! Inshallah”.
Mzbel together with some NDC fanatics ahead of the 2016 elections had poo-poohed the policy describing it as a juicy promise that is not doable.
But the confession by Mzbel has been seen as a major endorsement by opponents in the NPP who feel they have been vindicated.
President Akufo-Addo will officially launch the policy tomorrow at the West African Senior High School (WASS) in Accra thus fulfilling a major campaign promise of ensuring free access for all at the Secondary School level.
The policy which is expected to cost GH¢400 million for just the 2017/2018 academic year will benefit about 400,000 students.
The students will be exempted from paying for tuition and other fees.
