With less than a month to the 2016 elections, security analyst and Peace Ambassaddor for the 2016 elections, Irbard Ibrahim has called for restraint and calm ahead of the December polls.
According to Irbard, a lot has been sacrificed so far by stakehonders to ensure that we have a peaceful election and so we should not as a country do anything to threaten the peace we are enjoying and seek to enjoy after the elections.
The young security analyst called for restrained from all parties and advised the security agencies and the Electoral Commission to be impartial and transparent in the discharge of their duties.
The call comes after both supporters of the NDC and NPP clashed at the Nima residence of the flag bearer of the NPP on Saturday leading to shoot out.
“Let’s not allow the remaining less than one month to the general election mar the man hours, toil and sweat we have all put in to make this year a peaceful one.
“I call on all Ghanaians to remain calm as our security agencies piece together a comprehensive strategy to forestall such acts of sporadic violence.
“I call for restraint on all sides, call for a stream-lining of weekend health walks by political parties, impartiality on the part of out security agencies and transparency on the part of the Electoral Commission”.
