The death is reported of one of Nollywood’s finest actors and producrs, Obi Madubogwu.
Obi passed away on Monday after battling “acute diabetics foot ulcers”, an acute disease that could lead to amputation.
The actor some few months ago cried for help to enable him foot his medical bills after his treatment at the Federal Medical Centre Ebute Meta, Yaba, Lagos drained him financially.
The calls prompted many Nigerians including Nollywood stars to offer diverse help both in kind and in cash.
“I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Nigerians who helped him out financially, physically and spiritually.”
Until his demise, the actor was on the verge of soliciting support to travel to the US for the final stage of his treatment
Obi Madubogwu became popular for his role in the blockbuster ‘Battle of Musanga’ were he played the lead role.
He also featured in Passion of My Blood 2 (2007), Passion of My Blood (2007) and Mothers-in-Law (2004).
