Executives of the New Patriotic Party in the Brong-Ahafo Region have held a press conference and accused four NDC Members of Parliament of masterminding attacks on their supporters in their constituencies in the ongoing limited voters registration exercise.

The press conference which was addressed by the Regional Chairman of the Party, Mr Asomah Cheremeh cited Honourable Eric Opoku, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister who is also the MP Asunafo South, Mr Collins Dauda, MP for Asunafo North and Minister for Local Government, Dr Hannah Bissiw, MP for Tano South and deputy minister of Agriculture and MP for Banda, Honourable Ahmed Ibrahim who have organised thugs  to unleash assault on some members of the NPP who were monitoring the registration exercise in those constituencies.

Mr Asomah Cheremeh mentioned the kidnapping of 12 members of the NPP Rural Campaign Club at Tano South by some gun wielding men who were assaulted, beating and stripped naked, an attack on the NPP MP for Asutifi North Honorable Joseph Dahan and some NPP Constituency executives at Ntotroso by some hooligans on the orders of one Naaba, the biological brother of Alhaji Collins Dauda as some of the attacks their members and supporters have suffered in the hands of the NDC hooligans without any provocation.

According to him, on the 1st of May 2016, another group of Macho Men in a Toyota Pick Up with registration number GN 6486-13 came to the Presby Primary School registration centre at Goaso in the company of  Madam Georgina Pupel, NDC Regional Women’s Organiser and ordered the NPP agents to leave the center and when they refused, they beat them up.

At Banda Ahenkro Presby Primary registration center, the two younger brothers of Honorable Ahmed Ibrahim the MP, Moro and Alhaji beat the NPP agents and drove them away from the center whilst  the deputy constituency secretary who arrived at the scene after the incident was also chased, brutalized and physically attacked leading to his hospitalization, the Chairman narrated.

According to him, similar acts of lawlesness occurred at Kukuom Anglican Primary School in the Asunafo South Constituency, where the DCE for the area Mr Oppong Frimpong violated the C.I 91 by unlawfully preventing some ghanaians from registering and when he was challenged by the NPP agents to fill the challenge form if he felt they were not qualified,

He however went back and mobilised about 60 macho men armed with guns and machetes, some of them believed to be the body guards of Honorable Eric Opoku who are  notorious armed robbers and noted for causing confusion in the area, pounced on the NPP supporters around the center and subjected to merciless beatings, the Chairman continued.

Mr Asomah Cheremeh explained that, their members were not only attacked by the gun wielding hooligans, but they also robbed them of their valuable which included mobile phones, tablets and monies which he described as criminal.

He is therefore calling on the Police, BNI and other security agencies to intervene by arresting the perpetrators of these heinous crime and also call on the NDC MP’s who are masterminding these attacks to order before things get out of hand because the supporters of the NPP are losing patience because of the inactions of the security agencies.
