Controversial Ghanaian hiplife musician, Kwame Asare Obeng known as A Plus has openly declared his intention to contest the Chairmanship position of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Gomoa Central constituency.
A Plus who has officially begun his bid, yesterday met some party executives and conveyed his intention to lead the party in the constituency to them and asked for their support.
The fierce and avowed critic of the erstwhile Mahama-led led administration broke the news on his official Facebook timeline.
“Yesterday I met with some of the hardworking Gomoa Central NPP Executives. At the meeting I informed them about my plan to contest for the constituency chairmanship position in the up coming election and other future ambitions……? Thanks to all those who made it to the meeting. I’m looking forward to meeting with those of you who could not make it very soon.”
Though the NPP has scheduled 25th to 27th of August for its National Delegate Conference in Cape Coast to elect new National executives who shall steer the affairs of party into the elections 2020, it is yet to fix a date for the Constituency and regional elections after an initial postponement.
