The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has revealed that it will not kowtow to pressure from the Electoral Commission (EC) correct 105 errors.
According to Mr. William Dowokpor, the National Vice Chairman of the PPP, the party will correct only one anomaly as indicated by the EC prior to their disqualification but not the fathom new 105 errors the commission wants them to believe.
Mr. Dowokpor in an interview with Winston Amoah on 3FM disclosed that they are surprised at the sudden turn of events since the Supreme Court in its wisdom gave the deadline taking into consideration the number of errors pointed out by the Electoral Commission. He questioned why the EC was bent on trying all means to ensure that the PPP is disqualified.
“We will make the one correction and submit, but if the EC will not corporate with us in that manner, then we will head to the courts again.
“We believe sincerely that the Supreme Court would not have given 48 hours if it knew the number of errors.”
He advised the Electoral Commission to back down on its entrenched position or they will proceed to court to make sure the right thing is done.
