The Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) has chosen a former Miss Ghana Brigitte Dzogbenuku and the founder and Executive Director of Mentoring Women Ghana (MWG) as its running mate for the 2016 general elections.
The selection of Brigitte Dzorgbenuku is the second time that the party has settled on a lady as a running mate as in 2012, Dr. Papa Kwasi Nduom partnered former GBC Director-General Eva Lokko for the general elections.
At a colourful event to outdoor the running mate at the party’s headquarters, Dr. Nduom told party supporters that his choice of running mate is indicative of vision of providing jobs for everybody and encouraging the youth and the vulnerable in the society.
“We have said we want to encourage the young men and women. We have also said we want jobs jobs jobs…you will understand why I have made this choice because the person I am introducing has gotten experience of doing, doing at the grassroots level…here I am standing with Brigitte Dzogbenuku”.
Madam Dzogbenuku who was crowned Miss Ghana in 1991 is a member of OccupyGhana and the founder and Executive Director of Mentoring Women Ghana (MWG), a nonprofit organization.
