Rocky-Dawuni

Reggae superstar Rocky Dawuni has been nominated in the 2016 edition of the prestigious Grammy Awards, the world’s biggest music awards scheme, which recognizes outstanding achievements in the music industry.

The Ghanaian musician is presented with a rare opportunity to annex the accolade with his current album ‘Branches Of The Same Tree’, making it into the ‘Best Reggae Album’ category.

Dawuni faces a daunting challenge, having been nominated alongside some legends in reggae music including Luciano, Barrington Levy, Morgan Heritage and Jah Cure, who all stand a chance of winning in the category.

Los Angeles rapper, Kendrick Lamar leads the pack with 11 nominations, including nods for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Rap Album. Taylor Swift and The Weeknd follow with seven nominations each.
