US Ambassador Okays Ghana’s Election, Describes Process As Transparent And Violence Free
The United States Ambassador to Ghana, Robert P. Jackson has commended the country for continuously striving to promote the tenets of democracy.
According to Robert Jackson, what he has witnessed so far points to a system that is generally transparent, smooth and without intimidation and is a clear indication that Ghana is indeed a beacon of democracy.
“The process has been smooth. It has been transparent. People understand how they should vote and there has been no sign of intimidation. Certainly no sign of violence.
“We witness one polling place where voting machines has not arrived. It arrived an hour later and then they start immediately processing people in a very expeditious fashion.
“I’m very satisfied that Ghana is maintaining its reputation as a beacon of democracy.”
