Ex-Player Of Hearts Of Oak Dies Of Cardiac Arrest



Banewsgh.com has gathered that, former Accra  heart of Oak Player, Uriah Asante has passed on this morning. Sources close to the family indicate that, the 24 year old player suffered a cardiac attack.

He was rushed the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital and was later pronounced dead.

According to our source, the player was in Sunyani about three weeks ago on the invitation of his brother, a teacher who was celebrating his birthday.

He was reported to have told one of the invited guests at the birthday party who was a Kumasi Asante Kotoko Fan that, he intended to come down to play for Kumasi Asante Kotoko when he completed his masters course.

Uriah Asante joined Accra Hearts of Oak on loan from Pure Joy FC and spent two successful seasons with the ‘Never Say Die Club’.

The graduate of the University of Ghana later left the shores of Ghana and played in the Tunisian League for Etoile Du Sahel and EGS Gafsah.

He also featured for Ghana in the African Under 20 tournament but the team failed to qualify to play in the world championship.
