Waris, Dwamena, Attamah Dropped As Grant Names Final 23 For AFCON

Coach Avram Grant has submitted the final 23-man squad to CAF ahead of the AFCON 2017 tournament scheduled to take place in Gabon From January 14 to February 5.

Avram Grant who is under pressure to win the cup for the first time in over 34 years, surprisingly has dropped Lorient’s Abdul Majeed Waris who has been battling fitness issues for some time now.

Another surprise exclusion is Raphael Dwamena who has been in top for his club, Lustenau this season scoring 18 goals in 20 appearances this season.

Turkish-based Joseph Attamah Laweh also failed to make the final squad.
