anasToday marks the birthday of ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas as he turns 40 years.

Though little is known about Anas because of the nature of his work, the investigative journalist per our checks was born on July 7, 1978.

He made the announcement on one of his official Facebook handles by releasing a trailer to mark the day.

Anas Aremeyaw Anas is a Ghanaian journalist who hails from Bimbilla in the Northern region of Ghana.

He grew up in Burma Camp, a military barracks in Accra.

A lawyer by profession, Anas is an alumnus of the Ghana Institute of Journalism(GIJ) and the University of Ghana respectively.

A proud Vandal, Anas was a resident of the popular Commonwealth Hall during his days as a student.

Anas joined the Crusading Guide newspaper in 1998 after his university education and has risen to become the Deputy Editor-In-Chief.

His motto of “name, shame and jail”, and his famous style of utilizing his anonymity is very critical in his investigative workl.

Best known for his works on anti-corruption and human rights investigative works, Anas has won countless national and international awards.

In December 2015, the Foreign Policy magazine named him as one of 2015’s leading global thinkers, an honour previously granted to the likes of Barack Obama, Aung San Suu Kyi, Pope Benedict XVI, and Malala Yousafzai.

He is not just a gem but a blessing and we can only wish him a Happy Birthday on this special occassion.
