Gyan donates to Black Queens

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has donated a cash amount of $10,000 to Ghana’s female team, the Black Queens to boost their participation in this year’s All Africa Games as they begin their campaign this weekend.

Gyan made the donation on Wednesday night when the Black Queens and the U-23 national team visited the Black Stars team at their hotel in Brazzaville, Congo to wish them well as they depart to Rwanda ahead of their AFCON qualifier.

The all-time Black Stars top scorer praised the female national team for qualifying to the competition He also charged the Meteors and the Queens to prepare their minds for the challenge and make the nation proud by winning gold in their respective competitions.

In response, the Black Queens thanked Gyan for the gesture and pledged to make the Ghana proud at this year’s competition.

The under-23 national team will defend their title as reigning champions in the men’s football competition while the Black Queens make another attempt at winning gold starting from a tough three-team group including Cameroon and South Africa.
