The Principal of Atebubu College of Education (Atecoe), Mr. Wayo Zakaria has admonished students of the college to focus on their studies and stop meddling in partisan politics.
According to him, the aim of the students on campus is to learn in order to pass their exams and be useful citizens in future and so cautioned them to desist from neglecting their academic work since their continue stay on campus is not dependent on the winner of the December 7 polls but on hardwork.
The principal further bemoaned the situation where politicians organise political activities on campus without seeking approval from the college authorities.
Mr. Wayo Zakaria who made the observation during an interaction with students of the college ahead of the 2016 polls charged the students to be wary of politicians who put them on front-line politics since they are just taking advantage of them.
“Have you considered all those who want to be our leaders ? Have you taken their messages? Do you in turn contributing in such a way that our elections will be peaceful us students?
“There are even at times you hear noises. I call them noises because if you come here playing music with your band without paying a courtesy call on us.
“This is an educational institution, not a lorry park. It is not a Community Centre. Please, it is wrong. You are being guided by rules and regulations and you must know why you are here because no matter who is the president of Ghana if you fail the exams you will be withdrawn”.
Mr. Adams Farouk, the SRC President on his part advised his colleagues who will be serving as electoral officers to refrain from accepting bribes just to influence the outcome of elections.
