The Brong-Ahafo Regional Association of Queen Mothers has registered its protest over the falsehood being circulated by some persons against the First Lady, Lordina Mahama that she was behind the operation of DKM Diamond Micro Finance.

The Association has threatened to invoke curses on those group of people who continue to propagate malicious lies against the First Lady without any basis

There have been series of allegations against the First Lady  by some aggrieved Customers of DKM of encouraging the people in the Region to invest in the now distressed Microfinance Company at a function in Berekum, an accusation her husband, John Dramani Mahama has described as untrue.

Addressing a Press Conference on Friday at the Brong-Ahafo Regional Capital Sunyani, the Queen Mothers led by the Damoamaa Hemaa of Kintampo, Nana Yaa Amponsah have issued a two week ultimatum to those people to either substantiate their allegation with proof or else, they would be compelled to invoke the spirit of the gods on them.

She lamented that, the allegation has demeaned the towering image of the First Lady who herself is a Queen Mother and the Institution of Queen Mothers. According to her, the First who is the true Daughter of Brong-Ahafo Region and also the Sompahemaa of Nkoranza has contributed immensely to the numerous development projects and improving the lives of the needy and the under privileged in the Region.

‘ How can the First Lady now be accused of fleecing the very people  she has supported over the years’ Nana Yaa Amponsah asked. She described the accusation against Mrs Mahama as a palpable falsehood calculated at dragging her image into disrepute and incite the wrath of the people particularly the aggrieved Customers against her.

She warned that, the Association would not countenance any attempt at running the First Lady down and would therefore  do everything possible to protect her hard won reputation  and by extension, the sanctity of the institution of Queen Mothers of which she is a long standing and respected member

The Queen Mothers chanted war songs as a demonstration of their battle readiness to go at every length to defend Mrs Mahama. They later danced to some Live Band Musics to climax the event.
