The Senior National team, the Black Stars of Ghana this afternoon qualified for the 2017 AFCON schedule to take in place Gabon by beating the Les Dodos of Mauritius in Port Louis by two goals to nil.
The win means the Black Stars top Group H with 13 points, seven clear points ahead of Rwanda and Mauritius who are both on 6 points respectively.
The Stars who played without their Captain and talisman Asamoah Gyan, dominated every department of the game from the blast of the whistle but struggled to find the back of the net until the last 20 minutes of the game to score two quick goals.
Andrew Ayew broke the deadlock in the 70th minute after the defenders of Mauritius failed to deal with Baba Rahman’s cross. Christian Atsu added a second four minutes later after Baba Rahman went past two defenders to locate the on-loan Malaga player.
The Black Stars will finish their campaign with a home game against Rwanda on September 4.
