The Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) has denied claims by the Daily Guide Newspaper that it has conducted a nationwide polls in relation to the 2016 general elections.

The survey according to the paper, predicts that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will win the 2016 presidential  elections with 51.85%.

“The attention of the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) has been drawn to a publication, in the Daily Guide purporting that in March 2016, the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) in collaboration with a pollster in Accra conducted a survey across the country”.

The BNI in a statement signed by Col. EWK Nibo rubbished the claims as put out by the paper saying, it has not done any polls nor collaborated with any pollster.

“We wish to categorically state on record that the BNI has not conducted any such polls, either by itself or in collaboration with any pollster.

The statement promised the general public that the security agencies will continue to discharge their duties as prescribed by law and protect the good people of Ghana.
