Reports reaching banewsgh.com indicate that the Sunyani High Court 3 has ordered an emergency recount of the results of the June 13 NPP parliamentary primaries in the Sunyani East constituency.
The court has declared that the ballots should be counted with the next two hours at the premises of the high court in the full glare of party supporters and the general public.
It would be recalled that one of the aspirants George Kumi having petitioned the party’s headquarters took the case to court following the party’s refusal to commission the recount.
The court on Wednesday July 15, adjourned the case to Friday July 17, when two NPP lawyers clashed over who to represent the Party.
In the June 13 primaries, Hon. Ameyaw-Cheremeh beat the former ambassador to Libya and Nigeria by only one vote having polled a total of 388 of the total valid votes cast.
