Embattled Ashanti regional chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Bosiako has been granted bail by the Asokwa District Magistrate Court in the sum of GH¢ 20,000 with two sureties one of which should be a landed property or deposit an amount of 10,000 cedis.
The trial judge, Owusu Korkor after considering a letter written by solicitors of the complainants for an out of court settlement granted the accused person bail and adjourned the case to 1st June, 2016.
“We act as solicitors for Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwah and Mr. Felix Ibrahim and it is on that instruction that we write.
“Our clients are complainants in the above mentioned case against the Ashanti regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako. Our clients have instructed us to their decision to pursue settlement and have accordingly instructed us to serve you notice of their said intention”.
In court to commiserate with the Regional chairman were some party bigwigs as well as thousands of party supporters.
Bernand Antwi Bosiako was placed in police cells overnight after he reported the station on Tuesday after the Ashanti regional Police Command had issued an order for his arrest for assaulting Hon. Collins Owusu Amankwah and Mr. Felix Ibrahim.
The situation compelled many supporters of the opposition New Patriotic Party to besiege the premises of the Adum Police station in Kumasi demanding his immediate release.
