I Don’t Blame Wontumi For Slapping Me – Manhyia North MP




The New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for the Manhyia North Constituency, Honourable Collins Owusu Amankwaah has disclosed that he will not blame the Ashanti regional Chairman, Bernand Antwi Bosiako for assaulting him during the just ended Limited Voters Registration exercise.

According to the law maker,  he has always been in good terms with the regional chairman and alleged that the misunderstanding between him and the controversial chairman was orchestrated   by his detractors aimed at making him unpopular.

He contend that Wontumi acted on unsubstantiated allegation that was leveled against him by  one  Nana Osei Bamfo, who is seeking to unseat him in the yet to be conducted Manhyia North primaries.

“We have been best friends and I cannot blame him for what happened as investigations have revealed he is not to blame for the incident. I love my Regional Chairman and I love the Party. I have stood through thick and thin to rally behind the Party and I have been so committed and dedicated to the cause of the Party, having served in various capacities”.

He reiterated his commitment towards ensuring that the party retains the seat now that the issue has been amicably settled by some elders of the party and urged all his supporters to work assiduously towards achieving that target.

The Member of Parliament for Manyhia North, Honourable Collins Owusu Amankwah together with the constituency secretary, Felix Ibrahim were assaulted in Krofrom by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP during the Limited Biometric Voters Registration Exercise.
