Eastern Region | Kpong Presby JHS Pupils Write Exams On The Floor

Some pupils of Kpong Presby Junior High School in the Lower Manya Krobo District in the Eastern region are forced to write the end of term examination of the floor as a result of inadequate desks.

The unfortunate development has compelled some of the pupils to improvise by sitting on stones and other materials they can lay their hands on.

Others are also forced to squat, kneel or write on their laps.

Interestingly and strangely, while such students struggle to gain composure when writing, some of their colleagues who are privileged to have access to the few desks available sit and write comfortably.

A teacher who spoke on condition of anonymity reveals the development is an impediment to effective academic work but there is nothing they can do since all attempts to secure more desks have proven futile.

” The situation is very worrying since most of these students learn and write exams under deplorable conditions. We have been going up and down just to get additional desks but nobody seems to occur.”
