FIFA has confirmed the candidature of five individuals for the February 26 election.

The five who are seeking to replace Joseph Sepp Blatter are; Prince Ali bin al-Hussein (Jordanian), Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim al-Khalifa (Bahraini ), Gianni Infantino ( Italian/Swiss ), Tokyo Sexwale (South African) and Jerome Champagne (French).

The election is expected to be keenly contested between  Sheikh Salman, head of the Asian Football Confederation, and Infantino, the Uefa general secretary.

Sepp Blatter last year resigned just three days after winning a fifth term  as FIFA president in the aftermath of the arrest of leading FIFA officials.
