Former broadcast journalist, Kojo Frempong has served notice that he will be contesting the New Patriotic Party parliamentary primaries in the Wenchi constituency.
Confirming his decision to contest in the intraparty primaries slated for April 25, he revealed that his decision to contest is to bring Wenchi to its old glory.
“Definitely, I am of the firm belief that we can rethink Wenchi. These days, Wenchi is not the town it used to be.”
According to him, Wenchi has lost its place among its compatriots and it is time to reclaim it.
“Some 25 years ago, Techiman, Kintampo and Tain were all under Wenchi. Fast forward to today, Techiman has outstripped Wenchi in every known economic and social metric.
“have been telling delegates that we can re-engineer Wenchi to create new opportunities for the people and to represent them in a way that will create a new dawn of development and hope for the people.”
Kojo Frempong boasts of years of experience in the media having worked with Skyy Power FM in Takoradi, Joy FM, TV3, TV Africa and Viasat 1 TV.
He was named the best TV show Host in 2014 and 2015 at the Radio and Television Awards.
Kojo holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
He is currently a worker at the Ministry of Business Development.
Kojo Frempong will have a tall huddle to surmount if the incumbent and good old Professor George Yaw Gyan-Baffour decides to contest again.
