Former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Yaw Frimpong Manso has announced his resignation from the church over what he describes as “gross disrespect to his person and ministry”, following a homosexuality row with the General Assembly.
Rev. Dr. Frimpong Manso is not happy about the decision of the PCG’s leadership to recall him from Virginia in the US where he had been on assignment, following their resolution to severe ties with the pro-homosexual Presbyterian Church in the United States of America.
According to reports, the current Moderator, Rt. Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Martey had written to Rev Frimpong Manso asking him to return to Ghana latest by December 31, 2015, citing as ‘demonic’ and “deviation from bible principles”, the US Presbyterian Church’s approval to ordain gay pastors, elders and deacons, vowing that the church in Ghana will never accept the act.
Confirming his resignation, Rev. Dr. Yaw Frimpong Manso told Accra-based Adom FM that, the General Assembly has not shown him respect and has therefore opted to stay with the US church since he cannot serve two masters.
“I was not given a hearing before they took the decision to recall me. I think it is disrespectful to my person and ministry,”…..”I cannot serve two masters so I will stay here, do the work of God and win more souls for Christ,” he said.

Re: Resignation from the PCG
In view of the current misunderstanding of the PCG concerning the extension of my call to the service of the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church through the Presbytery of New York City and the clear understanding of the PNYC of the PC (USA) polity regarding transfer of my membership to the Presbytery and for that matter under their jurisdiction in their letter of September 24, 2015 to you, I have decided with the support of my family to resign from the Ministry of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana with effect from October 31, 2015. I wish you all the best in the LORD.
Very Rev. Dr. Yaw Frimpong-Manso.
