Four final year students of the Tano Community Health Nursing Training College in the Brong Ahafo region died on the spot when the Hyundai saloon car they were on board got involved in a ghastly accident at Abesim near Sunyani.
The students whose names banewsgh.com managed to get as Dora, Florence, Gifty and Vivian all died on the spot as a result of the huge impact of the accident.
Speculations are that the accident which happened at the Glamossay Hotel junction around 12:30am happened after the driver of the Nissan Primera with registration number BA 468 13 who was allegedly drunk lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road hitting trees in the process.
According to unconfirmed reports, the four students had apparently sneaked to town to attend the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Nominees Jam held at the Sunyani Coronation Park and were returning to campus when they met their untimely death.
Meanwhile, attempts to get the school authorities to comment on what the students were doing in town at that ungodly hour have so far proven futile.
The bodies of the deceased have since been deposited at the Sunyani Regional Hospital Morgue.
