The Brong-Ahafo Students’ Union (BASU) has on Saturday honoured two-time B/A radio personality of the year, Alhaji Tanko formerly of Ark FM and current host of Angel FM’s Morning show, Angel in The Morning.
The award was presented to Tanko in recognition of his immense contribution to education and the development of Brong-Ahafo over the past few years. Speaking to BA News after receiving the award, the highly elated radio superstar intimated that he feels he has an unfinished business to do for Brong-Ahafo and would continue to do his best for the region in any medium he finds himself.
This year’s fundraising and awards ceremony which was held at the cafeteria of the University of Energy and Natural Resources, started late almost 2 hours behind schedule and was poorly attended by students. Many dignitaries who spoke at the event complained bitterly about this development.
The students’ union also presented similar awards to some other indigenes of Brong-Ahafo who have also been helpful to the course of the union and the region at large.
Other award winners included Nana Agyeman Badu II (Dormaa Manhene), Godwin Attah Andoh (MD of Ark FM), Dr. Saarah Mensah (Former PNDC Regional Secretary for B/A), George Attah Boateng (Coordinator, Computerized School Placement System), Kofi Adoma of Adom FM and a host of others.
BA news had an exciting and extensive chat with Tanko regarding his stay in B/A and his new challenge in Kumasi in which he shared a lot of interesting opinions. We would very soon publish the full interview on this platform.
