Jacob Zuma Promises To Pay 50,000 Rands To Citizens Who Tattoo Their HIV Status Near Their Genitals

Jacob Zuma

South African president, Jacob Zuma, has promised to pay 50,000 Rands (approx. GH⊄16,000) to confirmed HIV positive citizens who tattoo their status near their genital area.

In addition to the money, such individuals will also get free counseling and medication.

This initiative has been widely regarded as a great step in helping to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the country which has the highest HIV prevalence in Africa.

Reports indicate that only the first 10 million people (who already tested positive) to volunteer to have their HIV statuses tattooed near their genitals would be given the money in form of a funeral expense voucher.
