A thirty-four year old teacher at at Tekese Junior High School at Drobo in the Jaman South District of Brong-Ahafo Region has been remanded in Police custody for allegedly killing his two month-old baby boy
Narrating the incident, Deputy Police PRO Brong Ahafo, ASP Christopher Tawiah said Stephen Kyere killed the baby as a result of a quarrel that ensued after refusing to pay the child’s health insurance renewal fees when his mother Takyiwaa went to demand the money from him.
ASP Tawiah explained that, “the suspect ask the lady to come to his school to come for money to register the baby on the national health insurance scheme. The lady proceeded to the school and upon reaching there, quarrel ensued between the two, and he (suspect) seized the baby from the lady and hacked it on the ground”
Kyere is currently behind bars after a court in Sunyani remanded him into Police custody for further investigations whilst the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Saint Mary’s Catholic Hospital at Drobo, pending autopsy.
