The Editor in Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has urged the President, Nana Akufo-Addo to immediately sack Mr Daniel Appiannin, the District Chief Executive for the Denkyira-Obuasi district.
The veteran journalist is accusing the DCE of negligence of duty and failing in the discharge of his constitutionally mandated duties.
Speaking on Peace FM’s flagship morning show, Kokrokoo, Mr Baako said the actions, inactions and utterances of the DCE who is in charge of the District Security Council (DISEC) in the wake of the lynching of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama are enough grounds to warrant his immediate dismissal.
He wondered why a public official charged with the responsibility of maintaining peace in the area could mislead the public by providing factually inaccurate information.
Describing him as a “disaster” Mr Baako averse that his continuous stay in office in the wake of the gruesome murder of the young army officer could jeopardise the security situation in the area.
“The DCE should be dismissed with immediate effect. Factually, the account he gave about the incident was not true.
“He should be removed quickly. It is clear that he is not going to be on top of his job, they should clear him.
“It will be a disaster. He is totally clueless and he goes on to say things to inflame passions.Sometimes the people holding positions of trust should know what to say and how.”
