The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has with immediate effect suspended Adams Alhassan, its treasurer for the Ahafo Ano North Constituency, a statement from the party stated.

The move according to the party is to allow for further investigations into a misunderstanding that erupted between Adams and the party’s Chairman for the constituency, Samuel Awuni, which resulted in the latter being injured.

The Chairman was allegedly stabbed twice in the head and beneath the eyes by the treasurer, during a disagreement over the use of the party’s vehicle which was allegedly being used to campaign for the regional minister who is aspiring to become the parliamentary candidate for the NDC in the constituency.

Adams Alhassan was arrested on Sunday night after the incident but was later granted bail and has since denied stabbing his Chairman.

The statement signed by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party further adds that, “the party seriously disapproves of such misconduct by any member at any level within the party.”
