The flag bearer of the biggest opposition party in Ghana, Nana Akuffo Addo has urged faithfuls of the elephant fraternity not to rest on their oars but to continue to work hard for the benefit of the party.
Nana Addo, who attributed his position as the flag bearer of the NPP to years of hard-work, commitment and dedication towards the goals of the party made these comments when Mrs Ursula Owusu Ekuful the Member of Parliament and the Parliamentary candidate elect for Ablekuma West constituency together with some constituency party members called on him.
He therefore advised Roni Nicole, the defeated parliamentary hopeful who was part of the delegation to give Mrs Ekuful the needed political support to ensure that she retains the seat because there is plenty of opportunity for him in future .
“NPP always remembers those who work hard for the party. I am here as flagbearer of the party partly because of the work I did in the past. Roni, this is your first time, there is plenty of opportunity for you in the future. Be what you are – a strong party man.
“Give Ursula your support, make sure she is returned with an increased majority and NPP people will reward you one day. What I have seen is reassuring and I believe Ablekuma West is on the cusp of something very great.”
The flag bearer further commended Roni for not been a bad loser when he lost in his bid to unseat Ursula in the Primaries by describing him as a “true-blooded NPP member”.
“Roni has shown that he is a true-blooded NPP member. He contested the primary and the votes he garnered were very substantial. After the vote, whatever he needed to do to ensure oneness prevailed in the party, he did. He needs to be commended highly. Roni is a first class example to the party of how people should behave,”
