The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is gearing up for an extraordinary congress next month, sources within the party have disclosed.
National Organizer of the party, Mr John Boadu who confirmed this on Accra-based Kasapa FM on Wednesday morning said, this is in accordance with Article 9(5) of the Party’s constitution.
According to him the party will use the opportunity to reflect on recent happenings within their ranks and also plan ahead of the 2016 elections.
Mr Boadu however dismissed reports that the party is holding the congress to decide and take a conclusive stance on suspended chairman, Paul Afoko.
“That is not our focus; everything we are doing is enshrined in the Party’s constitution. We are not going to do anything strange.”
The congress will take place on December, 19 in the Brong-Ahafo regional capital, Sunyani.
