In the latest twist, the Assin Central legislator has filed a complaint against the revered journalist for professional misconduct at the General Legal Council.
Portions of the complaint as intercepted by Ghanaxtra.com read: “I write on the above subject matter and respectively write to lodge a formal complaint in my capacity as a citizen of Ghana against a journalist and lawyer Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
“Respectfully, on the 27th day of June, 2018, the Salis Newspaper in conjunction with NET 2 Television aired a documentary at the premises of NET 2 Television titled “Who Watches the Watchman”.
It continues that “Respectfully, in the said documentary, Anas Aremeyaw Anas was seen and heard in a coversation with someone whom it later turned out to a Chief State Attorney by name Ellen Kwawukume discussing how both must collaborate and successfully work towards tainting evidence gathered Anas Aremeyaw Anas against three suspects therein, Mohammed Hafiz Abdullah, Mubarak Seidu and Prince Kinston Kwame…”
According to him, the reasons are enough grounds for a case of professional misconduct to be established against him and prays the General Legal Council to rightfully grant so.
“The complaint continues that Thus by the foregoing reasons, it is my humble opinion that such professional misconduct should not countenance at the Bar and therefore urge your revered council to conduct thorough investigations into the bahaviour of Anas Aremeyaw Anas.”
