pistolBreaking news reaching our quarters say an executive member of the Kintampo Garages Association has been shot in the arm over a land dispute.

The piece of land which lies close to the Bui Hydroelectric Power Substation in Kintampo is the subject of controversy between the two factions in the Mo Chieftaincy dispute.

Our sources indicate that the land was sold to the association by one of the factions in the dispute. However, it was when the executives of the association sent a bulldozer to clear the land to pave way for further development that tempers flared.

Mr Effah Asirifi alias Opaa, a spare parts dealer and an executive member of the association, who only went there to inspect work being done by the bulldozer, incurred the wrath of an assailant when he instructed him to vacate the piece of land to allow for continuation of work.

The development did not go down well with the culprit who then shot Mr Asirifi in his arm. The victim was quickly rushed to the Kintampo Municipal Hospital and has been referred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
