The new facility which was jointly inaugurated by the Tano North Municipal Assembly and the Ghana Health Service will provide maternity, Psychiatric and Out Patient Department services to support the existing health facilities in the area.
The new medical centre is expected to ensure effective health delivery, promote rapid response to health emergencies as well as bring health service delivery to the doorsteps of the people.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the Municipal Chief Executive for the Tano North Municipal, Honourable Ernest Kwarteng said although the project was commissioned by the previous administration, it lacked the needed logistics and equipment.
According to him, the project in its current form is well equipped to attend to the health needs of the people and charged the workers at the facility to actively engage themselves as partners in the delivery of primary health care.
He added that streets lights have been installed together with other security measures to safeguard the safety of patients who visit the facility at night.
The Municipal Health Director, Mr. Kofi Annoduku Annor on his part indicated that Malaria and intestinal worms among young people in the area are major challenges but said the new facility would enable them to effectively battle all forms of diseases.
