Some irritated Youth at Dumso, a community in the Kintampo South District went beserk and killed about eighty (80) cattles belonging to some Fulani Herdsmen, raising serious tension in the area.
Their actions were triggered by an utterance made by the Fulani Herdsmen who called the bluff of the youth and threatened to deal ruthlessly with any one who attempted to come near their animals.
The comment by the Fulani Herdsmen infuriated the youth in the community who ran amok and started butchering any cattles they came across, which resulted in the huge casualties recorded.
The residents in the Community are on alert as they fear there will be a reprisal attack from the Fulani Herdsmen whose cattle have been killed by the youth in the Community, banewsgh.com has gathered.
Police personnel have been dispatched to the community and measures are being put in place by the security agencies together with District Security Council to forestall any reprisal attacks.
There have been earlier complaints by the residents in the community aboutthe devastating destructions caused to their farms by the cattle to the Police.
They warned that, if nothing is done to avert further destruction to their farm produce, they would be left with no option but to eliminate any cattle they found on their farm land.
According to our source, the Kintampo Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Desmond Owusu Boampong has issued a two week Fulani to the Herdsmen to leave the town.
