A 30-year-old marketing officer of Vodafone Ghana, Mr Ebo Panford- Quainoo, has been murdered at his residence at Sakumono, near Jotasa Pharmacy, in the Greater Accra Region.
He was allegedly shot dead around 1.30 am on Wednesday by two unidentified armed robbers believed to be behind another attack on some other residents at Vulcanizer, a suburb of Sakumono, an hour earlier.
The deceased is said to have been hit by a bullet while the robbers fired indiscriminately into the windows of his bedroom.
His traumatized wife who spoke to the police said, after praying together with her husband on Tuesday night, they both retired to bed and she slept in the hall. However, at dawn she heard a loud noise from their bedroom and when she rushed there, she found her husband in a pool of blood.
The robbers then ordered her to bring the money and she gave them all the Gh¢150 in the house at that time. They fled away after taking the money, laptops, mobile phones and other electronic gadgets.
The Accra Regional Police PRO, ASP Afia Tengey told national newspaper, The Daily Graphic that, although the deceased’s wife raised an alarm, no neighbours came over to help take the victim to the hospital until the police arrived later that the victim was rushed to the Police Hospital, only to be pronounced dead.
Mr Panford-Quainoo only got married four months ago and is said to have sold his car recently. The robbers it is believed came demanding the proceeds from the car sale.
The police have begun investigations into the bizarre incident in an effort to apprehend the miscreants and bring them to book.
