Credible information available to banewsgh.com indicates that some papers in the ongoing 2016 WASSCE have been leaked. The papers, oral English, Integrated Science and Social Studies papers were in the public domain before they were written.
Further checks reveal that whilst the alleged papers were circulated via WhatsApp platforms, there were also several advertisements on two teacher platforms “GNAT Youth and Ghana Teacher Diary” on Facebook by some individuals.
WAEC has for several years battled with leakages of its examination papers in Ghana and the Council in an effort to reduce cancellation of results and cheating among students, introduced Item Differentiation Profile Software known as “differentia”, a software designed to detect mass cheating among students during examinations.
In February this year, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) dismissed two employees for breaching security regulations which resulted in the leakage of five papers during the 2015 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and demoted a third staff poor supervision.
