Paris St-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been crowned Sweden’s best male footballer for the ninth year running, making it a record 10th Guldbollen (Golden Ball) title for him.
Ibrahimovic first lifted the title in 2005, and has won it every year with the exception of 2006 when former Arsenal midfielder Fredrik Ljungberg beat him to it.
He stood favourite to win the award no other player has won more than twice, having had an incredible season last year winning a historic French domestic treble, reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League and becoming PSG’s all-time record scorer in the process.
Ibrahimovic has played for Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona, AC Milan and PSG, since winning his first Guldbollen in 2005. These transfers together total about £150 million.
